Are you trying to understand why you have a ringing in your ears that won’t go away and is disrupting your life? Then you need to understand that you could have what is known as Tinnitus or a ringing in your ears. The best way to get rid of this problem is to find the ringing in ears cause.

Knowing what is causing the ringing is the best way to get rid of the problem for good. There are many different things that could be causing Tinnitus. You just have to know what these causes are so you can best determine which one is causing your problem.

Once you have determined the cause, you will be able to get rid of it fairly easily so you can get back to your normal, but busy life. Below are some of the causes for Tinnitus that you need to be aware of.

1. Ear infections – If you suffer from ear infections all the time, this can lead to Tinnitus.

2. Wax build up in your ears – Not cleaning your ears properly and having a build-up of wax is also a problem.

3. Allergies – People that have allergies often take antibiotics or antihistamines to get rid of their symptoms. This can lead to a mucus buildup inside your ear and this will lead to an ear infection and possibly a ringing.

4. Medications or antibiotics – There are some antibiotics and medications that can lead to a ringing in the ears.
5. Heart disease – Many people that have this problem have developed a ringing. If this occurs, then your best choice is to talk to your doctor about how to stop it and try other natural methods to prevent it such as eating foods with the right nutrients and vitamins to stop it.

6. Excessive use of tobacco, alcohol or caffeine – These three things when used in excess have been found to lead to Tinnitus also. Avoid over using any of these things and if you have a ringing in your ears, then avoid them altogether.

7. Loss of hearing – Many times people that have some type of hearing loss will start hearing a ringing in their ears.

8. Loud noises – 85% of the people that suffer from this problem, were exposed on a daily basis to loud noises for a long period of time. Sometimes a single loud noise can cause the problem, but continuous loud noise on a regular basis is one of the leading causes.

Now that you know these causes, you will be able to better determine the ringing in ears cause for you. Once you know the cause, you will be able to stop it from happening much easier.

One more cause, what you eat can also cause ringing in the ears.

Crazy Talk! Tacos Found To Be A Leading Cause of Ringing In Ears

What flavor enhancer is found in many oriental foods and packaged foods that is one of the main causes of ringing in ears? If you answered Monosodium Glutamate you are absolutely right (and smarter than a 5th grader!)

It is an absolute myth that Monosodium Glutamate (also known as MSG) is only found in Chinese or Japanese foods. Right now go look through your package spice mixes, boxed rice, pastas and potato mixes and seasoned salts. Look at the list of ingredients. Do you see it listed? Scarier yet, is it listed as one of the top 5 ingredients? B.I.N.G.O.

Throw this stuff out and don’t look back. MSG is a powerful food flavor enhancer. In fact, it is so powerful that it was a secret for decades causing us to get ‘hooked’ on the improved flavors. Like nicotine is to cigarettes, MSG is to your food.

Here’s how MSG rules as one of the main causes of ringing in ears.

MSG is a glutamate, duh. Monosodium Glutamate. No big news there, but the problem is that Glutamate is the primary villain in cochlear-synaptic tinnitus. This type of tinnitus develops when hair cells in your cochlea are damaged.

Typically cochlea damage is caused by loud noises or taking drugs that are toxic to your auditory system(sometimes referred to as ‘otoxic drugs’). The noise or drugs damage the tiny hair cells that are vital to your hearing.

When the hair cells are damaged, they release large amounts of glutamate which become toxic to the neuroreceptors in the auditory pathway. These receptors die off from the excess glutamate. When that happens your ringing in the ears or, tinnitus is the end result. If you want more details then check out this.

I can not emphasize enough how important it is for you to make a conscious decision to avoid Monosodium Glutamate at all costs. Just learn how to spice up your tacos with chili powder and other natural spices. Ask your favorite oriental restaurant if there is MSG in their foods. In fact, see if they actually state that MSG is NOT in their food on their menus. Something in writing is far more ‘legally binding’ than something spoken.

While we are talking about food products that lead to tinnitus, let’s touch upon an artificial sweetener that is also one of the main causes of ringing in ears – aspartame. Folks, just stay away from MSG, aspartame, cut back on your sugar and salt consumption.

My Dad cut the the first 2 completely out of his diet and then reduced his intake of sugar and salt. He does have a hearing loss related to noise induce cochlear damage and we thought he was going to be stuck with his noises in his ears.

I am hear to state emphatically, that you should never think you should just ‘live with’ tinnitus. Go ahead and rummage through your packaged foods right now and toss out anything that has Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) or Aspartame in it.

Stash your sugar and salt shaker in the hard to reach cabinet. Go get Astiva to sweeten your coffee and Mrs. Dash to ‘salt’ your dishes.

Mark this day on your calendar and let me know how things are going after a couple of weeks. I bet your tinnitus noises are greatly reduced if not gone completely. Hear’s to you when you dump these causes of ringing in ears!

Many people, at some point in their lives, will experience a ringing sound in their ears, then search out the cause of ringing in ears. The medical term for this condition is tinnitus. Here's some professions that can lead to ringing in the ears.

The most common case of tinnitus is a ringing sound in the ears, however there are many types of sounds that can potentially be heard, including rushing, whistling, buzzing, hissing, clicking, or even the sound of rushing water.

There are several different variations of the way that people can experience tinnitus as well, including hearing sounds in just one ear or both ears simultaneously. Other notable experiences of tinnitus are hearing different sounds in both ears and hearing different pitches of ringing, from high-pitched sounds to low-pitched sounds.

The ringing in ears cause is not an exact science, as many people have a different experience with tinnitus, but one common trait is that it often can be caused by an outside stimulus. Due to this outside stimulus being a common factor, it is also then a common question to consider if a specific job can lead to tinnitus.

Consistent exposure to loud sounds is often credited as being the most common ringing in ears cause. Some of the common sounds that can lead to tinnitus would be listening to extremely loud music, such as that which you might hear at a rock and roll concert, or the sound of gunshots being fired. These types of sounds are not often experienced on the job however, so are not typically going to be a ringing in ears cause for the average worker.

Other sounds specific to certain seasons, like summertime, that can cause tinnitus are the sounds that lawnmowers make. There are many people in landscaping and lawn care businesses that could potentially be affected due to these sounds.

Therefore, proper ear care is extremely important in this field, and proper ear care means buying earplugs or earmuffs rated to deflect sounds up to specific decibel levels. Workers in construction, and workers in other fields that utilize heavy machinery, should also take similar precautions.

Working with power tools and equipment such as chainsaws and jackhammers, can have equally devastating effects over time on the ears. This can lead to tinnitus, with the possibility of permanent hearing loss as well.

Tinnitus also has other potential causes besides just loud outside sounds. Physical ailments can be a ringing in ears cause in a few different ways.

Illnesses such as ear infections or excess build-up of earwax are two common physical problems often associated with ringing ears. Taking medications can also be a cause, as potential side effects of antibiotics and many over the counter medications, such as aspirin and other anti-inflammatory drugs. Often, by simply ceasing to take the medications, the tinnitus will stop. One other potential cause of tinnitus is old age, which of course cannot be controlled, but proper ear care while young, can help avoid tinnitus later in life.

There are many potential causes of tinnitus, but at least there is comfort in knowing that most cases of tinnitus are very mild and will often just go away on their own. While there is not specific cure for tinnitus, there are lots of potential ways that tinnitus sufferers can learn to cope with the ringing.

Therefore, even if a person does have tinnitus, there are many ways available to deal with it and ultimately still live life to the fullest. Even musicians have jumped on the bandwagon to save their hearing and wear earplugs these days. These ear plugs prevent ringing in ears caused by constant exposure to amplified music.

Get on the fast track with this step by step ringing in ears treatment program. In fact, you may be cured by just doing Step 1.

The causes for ringing ears, or ‘tinnitus’ as it is called, are many and varied and are sometimes difficult to detect. Generally speaking, there is no single ringing in ears treatment. There are as many methods of treating it as there are causes for tinnitus.

Indeed, around 93% of the millions of people who suffer from tinnitus never get complete relief from their affliction. Since tinnitus can be one of the most unnerving and stressful conditions you can have, many folks have had to search out an alternative ringing in ears treatment.

First though, let’s look at the causes for ringing ears. Ringing ears are actually symptoms of an underlying condition, or conditions, that you may have. The main causes of ringing ears are problems with the inner ear and damage to your auditory nerve. However head, neck, and other things like stress, high blood pressure and the overuse of drugs like aspirin.

Normally your doctor will try to identify the underlying causes for ringing ears before recommending treatment. There are times though when the underlying condition cannot be identified. In fact, your doctor may suggest you just live with the noise (and pain in some cases.) If you doctor give s you that line, ask for a second opinion.

There are a number of ringing in ears treatments your doctor might prescribe for ringing ears. There are prescription drugs, audio maskers, surgery, complimentary therapies, and counseling.

You have started on this path which is why you are here now. But to find a cure out of the hundreds of suggested treatments that people have tried and perhaps have had success with, will take up a lot of your time and a lot of your energy.

It would be much better and very much faster if someone had already done the research for you and had tested different cures, and combination of cures, on real tinnitus sufferers. The outcome would be a cure for ringing ears that had been proven to be more effective than traditional treatment.

Here’s how to get a fast start on ending the ringing in your ears.

Ringing In Ears Treatment

1. Identify foods and food ingredients that you consume that lead to tinnitus. Then eliminate or greatly reduce your intake of the stuff and see if this simple step cures your tinnitus.

2. Identify drugs that cause tinnitus. If you are taking them, then ask your doctor if you can substitute another product.

3. Supplement your diet with vitamins and minerals that promote healthy hearing and eliminate ringing in the ears.

4. Get a phone headset or hearing piece so you stop cradling the phone on your shoulder. Neck and shoulder strain are a common cause of tinnitus.

5. Look for stress reducers. Exercise is a great way to reduce stress. Easier said that done, I know. Stress is a major cause of ringing in the ears so look for ways to reduce the stress in your life.

6. Visit your physician and get tested for other ringing in ear symptoms pointing to other serious problems or causes that just don’t go away. This can be a tumor pressing on your auditory nerve, blood pressure problems, a sinus infection or neck and head injuries.

7. Visit with your dentist and tell him or her that you have ringing in the ears. You may have a misalignment of your jaws (TMJ), a tooth abscess or even a cracked tooth complicating your condition.

These are steps that are outlined in more detail in this downloadable resource. Once I got my hands on this document I was able to help my Dad ferret out the causes of his tinnitus. This ebook provides a comprehensive ringing in ears treatment tool for anyone suffering from tinnitus.

The Ringing In Ears Symptom You Should Know About

This article brings out an important point about symptoms of ringing ears that you should recognize. 1) Tinnitus symptoms are really signs of another health problem; 2)ringing in ears symptoms may be blood pressure related and 3)seek out a doctor’s help to cure tinnitus quickly in the case of high blood pressure or sinus and allergy problems.

Having a ringing in your ears is something that we all experience sooner or later in life. This condition is known as Tinnitus and is a common problem with our species. The medical community continues to study this ailment in hopes of understanding it better. The symptoms may range from light to severe with various sounds such as ringing, running water, or a dull humming. However having a ringing in your ears might not be directly related to Tinnitus and may be a symptom of another problem.

One such problem that can cause ringing in the ears is anxiety. Anxiety affects the body in strange ways and anxiety attacks can amplify these odd symptoms. Ringing of the ears has no direct correlation with anxiety but anxiety can cause Tinnitus in some cases which accounts for the sound. When this happens it’s advisable to address the source of your anxiety to take care of the noise.

Another common yet ignored cause of Tinnitus is blood pressure. Regardless of whether you’re just predisposed to it or have a high cholesterol count your blood pressure can have severe effects on your body. If you have abnormal sessions of ringing in your ears along with a family history or a suspected high blood pressure problem it’s advisable you talk to your doctor. Treating high blood pressure can not only take care of the ringing but can make you much healthier for the long run.

Aside from having serious medical problems standard issues such as sinus problems and allergies can also cause your ears to ring. Other times the ringing may be caused by the very medications that you’re taking to address another problem. When dealing with sinus and allergy problems the ears natural drainage pathways can be clogged which can lead to the ringing in your ears.

There are also perfectly natural causes for the ringing one of which is simply growing old. Our bodies do break down with age and this is a fairly common problem as people get older. Other issues include a malfunctioning thyroid, joint issues, muscle tension, or vitamin deficiencies.

There are numerous kinds of Tinnitus which can be treated or dealt with and their severity differs. One problematic form of the ailment is called Atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis produces a noise that can not only be heard inside the body but can be heard by a medical professional upon examination of your neck and head area. The reason that they can hear the noise as well as you is due to the fact that there is a deformity in the body causing the problem. This is a very serious medical condition and should be treated immediately.

The above mentioned instances of Tinnitus are easy to treat in most cases and can be dealt with as needed. However general Tinnitus is a bit less understood which is why the medical community is still doing massive amounts of research into the subject. While ringing is not the only sound that the problem can produce it is the most frequently heard sound. Treating the issue varies from person to person as the cause for Tinnitus in general is still not fully understood. If a person just suffers from it on a random basis then there may be nothing left to do but simply deal with it and keep going. There are a variety of natural alternative treatments that have shown some success in treating the problem but they don’t work for everyone. If you suffer from ringing in your ears and either can’t deal with it anymore or think it may be a symptom of a much bigger problem you should contact your doctor immediately.

Pretty much everyone has experienced, at some time or another, a fleeting ringing in their ears, at a minimum. Normally this goes away within a few seconds or minutes, but for some people the continual ringing in their ears stays around for good. This misery is known as tinnitus. However, this debilitating noise or can more often be symptoms of a host of other conditions.

A ringing in the ears may be symptoms of anxiety, for example, and there are many different symptoms of anxiety. Those who have anxiety or experience panic attacks suffer these symptoms in many different ways. Ringing in the ears, or tinnitus, can be symptoms experienced by a good many people, but ringing in your ears does not mean you have anxiety. Ringing in the ears is also a symptom of some blood pressure issues and can also result from having high cholesterol levels. As cholesterol gathers in blood vessels and more specifically the blood vessels near the ear, the blood pressure can become more turbulent in its effort to push through some of the blockage. If you are hearing a ringing in your ear, a simple test would be to check your cholesterol level.

Having a ringing in your ear can also be symptoms of sinus problems or allergies. Medications like antibiotics and antihistamines are typically used to treat these conditions. These medications can make the mucous in the ear difficult for the body to drain which can lead to pressure build up, ear infections and ringing in the ears. Conditions like presbycusis or hearing loss associated with age, muscle tension, temporomandibular joint disorder, vitamin B12 deficiency and a thyroid disorder could also produce symptoms like ringing in the ear.

Ringing in the ears may also be symptoms of any one of the following conditions:

- Atherosclerosis – where the arteries narrow due to cholesterol build up

- Benign Intracranial Hypertension may also be the cause – due to raised pressure in the cerebrospinal fluid around the brain.

- Damaged nerve – specifically the nerve connecting the brain and the ear.

- Stress & Depression

- Meniere’s Disease – due to associated unstable inner ear pressure

- Exposure to high pitched noise – particularly when in close proximity

- Intracranial vascular lesion – this condition can be very serious.

- Glomus tumor – around the blood vessels in the ear

- Acoustic Neuroma – which consists of a benign tumor

Noise heard within the ear is not limited to a ringing sound either – it can be a buzzing, whining, popping or even a static sound. The sound can be in both ears or just one ear. The treatment for this condition depends greatly on which condition ringing of the ears are symptoms of. Unfortunately in most cases, there is no conventional medical treatment for tinnitus and this fact has seen more and more people turning to alternative treatments. In fact the only real chance of conquering tinnitus permanently is through a holistic regime which involves a lifestyle transformation for many. Some of these changes may include a move to natural homeopathic treatments, a healthy diet, daily exercise, acupuncture, hypnosis and even implants.

Sudden ear ringing can be caused by a number of different problems. One of our readers shared her recent experience.

Insight Into Sudden Ear Ringing Causes – Reader Contribution

Hello Readers,

I just received this email from one of my readers in Jamaica, Sonja. She wrote of the onset of sudden ear ringing that her sister experienced recently. She sent this information in hopes it will benefit others. Thanks Sonja!

It was just last week my sister started to complain about a sudden ear ringing she was experiencing. I found it strange because I had never heard her complain about this before, and being the eldest sister, felt it was my responsibility to see how I could help her with this displeasure.

So we decided to make a doctor’s visit at our family physician after we did some background research on the internet, diagnosing this sickness as tinnitus. Not only have I never heard of this ailment before, but was even more surprised when we saw that it was a common occurrence among millions!

All in all, we felt it was too soon to make such a diagnosis and thought the doctor would be the best choice in order to find out what really was the problem. The doctor described tinnitus as simply a ringing or any other type of abnormal noise in the ear and less commonly in the head and that even though my sister shared similarities, it was somewhat different.

Finally, after running some more tests, we realized that this sudden ear ringing could have been attributed to my sister’s sinus problems, well in fact, it was. The doctor explained that when a person suffered from sinusitis, a sudden ear ringing may occur when their Eustachian tube (the tube that links the pharynx to the middle ear) has become congested with liquid.

Finally, my sister was able to receive treatment for her sinuses thereby alleviating the ear ringing that she had come to experience suddenly. This is why it is always important to consult your doctor when you are in doubt or simply need more information as to why things occur pertaining to our human body. Once you have the knowledge, you are in the know and therefore can act accordingly with regards to health issues.

Your friend,

Sonya

Artificial Sweetener Aspartame Proven To Cause Ear Ringing

Aspartame, also known by the common brand name “Nutrasweet” is a common sweetener that became more popular when saccharin was found to cause cancer. Unfortunately, aspartame is also associated with a load of side effects including tinnitus.

It’s crazy when you think that so many people are putting this stuff into their bodies every day. Most of us don’t realize that there are immediate side effects not the least of which is a direct link to the cause of ringing in ears.

Luckily, our food labels always show if a food or drink contains aspartame. Just stay away from it. The reason it is so bad for you is the same as for this other common food ingredient that causes tinnitus. The by-product of Aspartame is a neurotransmitter that leads to ringing in the ears as well as other neurological problems.

The biggest culprits are diet sodas, especially the cola flavored diet drinks. If you drink these regularly then I advise you stop it today. Everything that you drink really doesn’t need to be sweetened.

I know, you may live where the water is exceptionally heard or soft and just tastes terrible. You need to wean yourself off the sweetened products and onto water based hydration. You blood pressure will improve and you may find that this one step cured your tinnitus.

Take a baby-step approach to eliminating the aspartame loaded products from your diet. I know you will be tempted to use another artificial sweetener, but just because they haven’t linked Astiva (sugar substitute) to health problems doesn’t mean that its ok. That takes time, so just stay away from artificial sweeteners. You can find sweet comfort using substitutes like honey or molasses.

Add up what you spend on diet drinks and put it towards a water purification system for your home. Quitting the diet drink habit is simple once you have pure tasting water available. We’ve used one for 10 years and I will never be without a drinking water purification system.

Is your passion for ice cream, frappe lattes and sodas tied to the ringing in your ears? Here's the first step to take when you look for how to cure tinnitus.

How To Cure Tinnitus-Your Sugar Fixes and Links To Tinnitus

The International Tinnitus Journal publishing findings that a high sugar dint is linked to tinnitus and that switching to a low sugar diet can even give complete resolution from tinnitus.

If your diet is full of Krispy creme doughnuts and super large cafe lattes or sodas, you may find that your tinnitus goes away once you dump these high sugar items from your daily diet.

We are talking about a diet heavy in simple carbohydrates, refined foods and high saturated fats. This is the American diet. I once heard a dietician state that if it took you less than 3 minutes to make something to eat then you shouldn’t eat it.

Well, let’s try applying that to our western diets. We Americans are very fond of fast food diets. This leads to health problems, especially diabetes, heart disease and cancer. But a high sugar diet feeds your tinnitus.

Too much of our food is not crafted in a natural manner. We process it, shoot it full of dyes and saturated fats and sugar. The high sugar diet is a huge cause of tinnitus in many of us.

Dad and I took a hard look at the sugar stuff in his diet and eliminated it completely. This was really hard on Dad (but not as hard at the other additive we took off the table). So we substituted honey and molasses for the white or brown sugar and syrups he loved. Dad is a very frugal and he tended to use a lot less of the pricier honey and molasses than he did of the cheap sugar.

Sugary Drinks and Blood Pressure

Don’t forget that pulsatile tinnitus is related to high blood pressure. There is new study involved 810 adults aged 25 to 79 with early stage 1 hypertension. A person with stage 1 hypertension has a systolic blood pressure reading between 120 and 139 or a diastolic blood pressure of 80 to 89.

Most people in the study drank an average of 10.5 fluid ounces of sugar or high fructose corn syrup-sweetened beverages a day including non-diet soft drinks, fruit drinks, lemonade, and fruit punch when the study began.

Halving their soda intake resulted in a 1.8 point reduction in systolic blood pressure and a 1.1 point drop in diastolic pressure. A 3-point reduction in systolic blood pressure should reduce risk of death after stroke by 8% and heart disease mortality by 5%, according to information cited in the new report.

Americans drink about 2.3 servings or 28 ounces of sugar-sweetened beverages each day, and one in three adults in the U.S. has high blood pressure, according to the American Heart Association.

A word of caution. When looking for sugar substitutes, do NOT use this product. It is well-known as an ear ringing cause.
